The Seerah of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) by Martin Lings is by far one of the best biographies of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) in the English language. I have just started re-reading the biography and am always amazed at the style and narrative used by the author (may Allah shower him with mercy). 

For those that have not yet read the Seerah by Martin Lings, I would definnately recommend that you get a copy and read it, and for those of us that have it sitting on our bookshelves, this month of Rabi Al-Awwal is a good time to pick it up for a re-read.
