#DhulHijjahVideoathalon Part II.

Share your thoughts, memories, and stories of Hajj, Makkah, and Madina during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah and bring the spirit of Hajj to those not able to go this year due to Covid-19.

All you have to do is share your photos, videos, journals etc and hashtag #DhulHijjahVideoathalon with a tag to @islamopedia.

It’s as simple as that.

Looking forward to your contributions insha Allah.

Dhul Hijjah Videos Collaboration

IMG-20200523-WA0103

Eid Mubarak.

We hope you had a great day with the family insha Allah, despite being in lockdown.

We are working on a new project and are seeking 10 groups or individuals, between the ages of around 7 and 11, to make some short Dhul Hijjah videos based on our book ‘the Young Explorers Adventures in Makkah’.

20200517_022635_0000

The idea is to divide the book into 10 bite size chunks to read, narrate, animate, or act out as you see fit. You can be as creative as you like.

Videos will need to feature the relevant chapters from the book in some shape or form and will need to be ready for the last week of Dhul Qa’dah to be published on your social media profiles on the designated day in Dhul Hijjah.

The idea is a pretty simple one (I hope!)

I provide you with a free PDF copy of a chapter from our book ‘the Young Explorers Adventures in Makkah’ that you will use it to make a video with your child to post on social media in the month of Dhul Hijjah.

The video could be as simple as your child reading the book to a virtual audience like they do in children’s stories on shows like Cbeebies or you could be more creative and get them to act it out with their siblings or even use toys at home to act it out if you don’t want to show their faces.

More information on the book with links to reviews and excerpts can be found below:

https://islamopedia.co.uk/

With the prospect of Hajj being cancelled this year, this could be an exciting Dhul Hijjah project to do with the kids at home to teach them about the rites and sites associated with the Hajj and the pilgrimage to Makkah.

If interested please get in touch with us on mail@islamopedia.co.uk or DM us on social media.

We look forward to collaborating with you insha Allah.

Please share with anyone you think might be interested.

Jazak Allahu Khair.

Islamic Songs for Children

Assalamu ‘Alaykum,

As a parent I often look for Islamic based cartoons and songs for the little ones to watch during their allotted screen times. In recent weeks, thanks to my wife, I have come across some beautiful Islamic songs that will keep your toddlers occupied during those difficult meal times, or when you need to get away for a few minutes to do some tidying or household chores, or when you just need a moment for them to stay still for a bit.

I have linked them below in the hope that you will find them useful and enjoy them with your toddlers as much as I have. The only word of caution is that the songs do contain Music and therefore if you do not allow yourself or your children to listen to any sort of Music, then please do not click the links below:

UMMI Song Collection | ENGLISH | KIDS SONG | ISLAMIC SONG | 12 MINUTES by HudHud TV

Islamic Cartoons for Kids | Compilation | Loving Orphans and more | Omar & Hana by Omar & Hana – Islamic Cartoons for Kids

Twinkle-twinkle Syahadah (Alif & Sofia) by Mini Monsta – Cartoon for Kids

(Official) MV BISMILLAH (2013 Edition – ENGLISH) by Famille Musulmane

For older children, they may enjoy the Prophets Stories series by IQRA CARTOON . If you know of any others, feel free to share insha Allah.

Wednesday Circle | 15 Second Reminders | 03: The Qualities of the Hypocrites

Yesterday at the Circle we concluded the brief explanation of verses 1-20 of Surah Al-Baqarah.

The first 5 verses of Surah Al Baqarah deal with the Believers (Muttaqun), the next 2 verses deal with the Disbelievers (Kafiroun), and the next 13 verses deal with the Hypocrites (Munafiqun) and these are the worst of people.
