“The speech of the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) was not quick and continuous as that of yours. He spoke clearly, word for word. A person sitting in his company remembered what he said.”
“The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was of average height, and the portion between the two shoulders was wide. His hair was till his ear lobes”.
“The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was so clean, clear, beautiful and handsome, as though his body was covered and moulded in silver. His hair was slightly curled.”
“The Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) and his family spent many consecutive nights without food, because there would be no supper. The bread of the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) was mostly made of barley”.
“The Prophet (Peace and blessing be upon him) was neither tall nor was he short. In complexion, he was neither very white like lime, nor very dark, nor brown which results in darkness. The hair of the Prophet (Peace and blessing be upon him) was neither very straight nor very curly. When he attained the age of forty, Allah the Almighty granted him Prophethood. He lived for ten years in Makkah and in Madinah for ten years*. At that time there were not more than twenty white hair on his blessed head and beard.”
[Shamail At-Tirmidhi]
* This is just one of the narrations on the length of time the Prophet (peace be upon him) spent in Makkah and Madinah. The stronger opinion is that, after the revelation, he lived in Makkah for 10 years and Madina for 13 years.
As the crescent for Rabi’ Al Awwal was not sighted yesterday we have completed 30 days for the month of Safar. The month of Rabi’ Al Awwal will begin from tonight insha Allah with the first day of Rabi’ Al Awwal corresponding with Wednesday 25 January 2012.
May Allah (SWT) make this month as a reminder of His Beloved (peace be upon him)
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“Do not curse the wind. If you dislike what you see of it, then say, “O Allah, we ask You for the good of this wind and the good of what is in it and the good of what it is ordered to do. We seek refuge with You from the evil of this wind and the evil of what is in it and the evil of what it is ordered to do.””
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“No one who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart will enter the Garden.” A man said, “And if the man likes his clothes to be good and his sandals to be good?” He said, “Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means to renounce the truth and abase people.”
