Dorset Community Association – Appeal

Dear Brother and Sisters,

Assalamu ‘Alaikum & ‘Eid Mubarak.

I hope and pray that you are well.

I come to you with an appeal for my local Masjid / Community Centre.

We have a small Masjid / Community Centre on the Ground Floor of our Housing Estate. It acts as a hub for the local community where we gather for the Five Daily Prayers, Jum’uah, Tarawih and ‘Eid Prayers. In addition to this we have a Childrens Maktab to teach Qur’an, Supplementary School to assist young people with their Education, Advice Surgery for people on Benefits and much more.

Because we are such a small congregation, the Friday collections and other collections are not enough to sustain the costs of the centre. We have an annual rent of £10,000 in addition to which we have to pay Rates to the Council, Imam’s and Teacher’s Salaries, Utility Bills and General Maintenance Bills.

I am trying to see if I can assist by helping to collect at least one years rent so that the monies raised during other times can be spent on the other activities at the centre.

For now, I am not coming to you with any specific amounts or any specific appeals, other than to donate what little you can. I know there are many other causes to donate to and therefore do not expect anything big, but if everyone donated even just £5 (or less) as a one off payment that would go a long way in sustaining our Masjid / Community Centre.

You have helped me before with our Comic Relief Fundraiser, Cake Sale for Libya, Water4Life campaigns and I trust that you will show the same generosity with this campaign.

To donate, please follow the link below:

The Dorset Community Association website can be found at the following link:

If you do happen to donate, please drop me quick note to say that you have done so, so that I can monitor how we’re doing. I don’t need to know the amounts donated.

May Allah (SWT) reward you highly and accept from you your Ramadan and all the good deeds that you have done before, during and after.

Barak Allah Fee

Was Salam

Abu Zaynah

PS: Please note that the Dorset Community Association have not asked me to raise any funds, I am doing this off of my own back to help. They are a very humble group of Trustees who dedicate much of their time, free of charge, to keep the Centre going and I wanted to do this just to assist them in what little way I can.
