I hope and pray that you are well.
Alhamdu Lillah that Allah has blessed us with another day to live and to praise him.
As you may be aware, we have just entered the month of Rabi’ Al Awwal 1442. Rabi’ Al Awwal has traditionally been the month of commemorating the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). As such I wanted to do something different this year that I hope you will participate in.
Why not remember the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) this year by writing him a letter. A letter is a very personal way of expressing your feelings and it helps foster a very personal bond to the one being written to. Who better to foster that bond with then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Write to him and tell him about yourself. Tell him how you feel and what’s on your mind. Talk to him and tell him about his Ummah and how it’s grown, tell him about the good things, and even the weak points. Tell him about the world and how things are so different. Use the letter as a way to connect with the best of creation and develop that bond with him.
Whilst writing send abundant Salawat upon him. Get your children to join in as well and ask them to write their own letters and stories to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Encourage yourself and others by sharing your letters with us. Share your written pieces on social media by tagging @islamopedia and using the hashtag #writetotheprophet We can’t wait to read your contributions.
