Ibn Hibban narrated from Muadh ibn Jabal: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Allah looks at His creation in the night of mid-Sha’ban and He forgives all His creation except for an idolator (mushrik) or a one bent on hatred (mushahin).”
[Sahih ibn Hibban]
Â’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
“The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allâh be upon him) used to fast until we thought he would never break his fast, and not fast until we thought he would never fast. I never saw the Messenger of Allâh fasting for an entire month except in Ramadân, and I never saw him fast more than he did in Sha’bân.”

The Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“Shall I tell you who the best of you is?” “Yes,” they replied. He said, “Those who remind you of Allah when you see them.” He went on to say, “Shall I tell you who is the worst of you?” “Yes,” they replied. He said, “Those who go about slandering, causing mischief between friends in order to separate them, and desiring to lead the innocent into wrong action.”

“The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) often rubbed oil in his head and also often combed his beard. He put a cloth over his head, which became like an oil cloth due to the frequent use of oil.”

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“When Allah gathers the creation on the Day of Judgement, a caller will proclaim, ‘Where are Ahl-ul- Fadl?’ (The people of God’s favor). So some people will stand up and they will be few. They will go toward Paradise quickly. So the Angels will meet them and say, ‘We see you going toward Paradise quickly, so who are you?’ So they will say: ‘We are Ahl-ul-Fadl.’ So the Angels will ask about what made them favored over others and they will respond by saying: “If we were oppressed we would be patient, and if we were treated badly we would forgive, and if we were treated ignorantly we expressed forbearance (hilm).’ So it would be said to them, ‘Enter Paradise and how wonderful is the reward of the (good) doers.’”
