Assalamu Alaykum and Eid Mubarak to you and yours.

May Allah (SWT) accept all of our deeds and raise us from the righteous on the day of judgement.

First of all I would like to thank you all profusely from the bottom of my heart for supporting our campaign this Ramadan.

Thanks to your kind donations we achieved 30% of our target Alhamdu Lillah. This was no easy feat given the amount of campaigns that were seeking donations this Ramadan.

Although we haven’t reached our full amount we will continue to fundraise through launchgood and offline and insha Allah soon we will be in a position to commission work on the app.

We seek your Duas for success in these blessed days of Shawwal and ask you to to continue sharing our campaign with your contacts, friends and family.

Have a wonderful Eid.

Wa Assalamu Alaykum

Small Deeds that are Overlooked

small-deedsConclusion from yesterday’s Wednesday Circle:

Find one Small Deed that you can carry out on a daily basis for the rest of the Year and make a determined effort to complete that deed every day.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if it is small”. [Bukhari and Muslim]

The Deed can be anything from reciting a particular Dua or Adhkar every day to trying to pray all your Sunna prayers every day to reciting a page of the Qur’an every day or anything else. The key is to ensure that it is ‘Small’ and easy enough for you to be able to carry out on a daily basis.

Stuck for which small deeds you can do? Not to worry. Check out our list of 99 Small Deeds from the attachment in the link below. Choose any one of those deeds that is easy for you and complete it every day for the next year.

DIY – Make Your Own ‘Box of Good Deeds’

box-of-deeds-2Here is something good to kick off the new year and to give you a host of new deeds to complete every day for as long as you wish.

Make your very own ‘Box of Good Deeds’ for the home, workplace, school, prayer room, masjid or any other space that you like.

Follow the simple steps below to get going:

  1. Buy a medium sized gift / storage box (or for the more creative amongst us, make your own using an old card board box). Label it ‘The Box of Good Deeds’. You may also use a jar, a pot or anything else that you can get your hands into.
  2. Print out the following document – box-of-good-deeds
  3. Cut out the squares with the good deeds noted within.
  4. Fold up each square and place it in your ‘Box of Good Deeds’
  5. Place the ‘Box of Good Deeds’ in an accessible location in your chosen space.
  6. Use it everyday to take out a square, read and note the deed, carry out the deed, and repeat the same steps the following day, taking out a different random square each day.

Also share with us photos of your ‘Box of Good Deeds’ via social media tagging them with the hashtag #boxofgooddeeds and #islamopedia. You can also tag us by using our tag @islamopedia on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

You may also email us your photos on mail@islamopedia.co.uk.  (Depending on the number of entries, there may be a prize on offer for the most creative entry)

Remember, anyone who completes a good deed due to you sharing this with them, you will also get a reward equivalent to the reward that they get.

box-of-deedsThe Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

“He who inaugurates a good sunna in Islam earns the reward of it and of all who perform it after him without diminishing their own rewards in the slightest. And he who introduces a bad sunna is guilty of the sin of it and of all who perform it after him without diminishing their own sins in the slightest.”

[Sahih Muslim]

Get creating, get doing and get sharing. Let’s make this go viral for the sake of Allah, seeking by it only His Pleasure and His Reward.
