This Ramadan I would like to share a brief post with you every day asking you to do three things in the day as part of our 30 Day Ramadan challenge.
- The first will be a ‘Deed of the Day’ highlighting a different deed that you can do each day.
- The second will highlight a specific Prophetic Food that you can eat to incorporate a Sunnah Food item in your diet.
- The final will be a charity spotlight recommending a specific charity for you to donate a small sum to in order to support their work.
Let us begin below the actions for Day #11 bi’iznillah.
Deed of the Day: Contribute towards building a Masjid (or the running of one)
‘Whoever builds a Masjid seeking by it the Pleasure of Allah, Allah will build for him a similar place in Jannah.’ [Bukhari]
Prophetic Food of the Day: Squash
Narrated Anas (r.a): ‘I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) being served with soup and containing gourd and cured meat, and I saw him picking and eating the pieces of gourd.’ [Sahih al-Bukhari]
Charity Spotlight: Just Smiles
Following on from our efforts in 2016, the team are back in 2017 with #JustSmiles the new project that aims to support the vulnerable and needy both overseas and here in the UK through two separate campaigns #EidSmiles2017 and #XmasSmiles2017.
One of the fundamental aims of the project is to get more people to think about others less fortunate than ourselves.
Working in partnership with the young people’s charity Newark Youth London #EidSmiles2017 was officially launched on 25th April 2017 at the House of Parliament in London. The campaign will run until the of Ramadan and we will be distributing gifts leading up to Eid.
I hope you will join us in bringing a moment of happiness by making a stranger SMILE through your small donation.
